Tayyip Erdogan denounced a ” betrayal” in Turkey

Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan addressed the media in Istanbul making it clear that he not going anywhere and will stay with his people and will not hand the country over to occupiers, after a failed coup attempt by cerrtain officers of the military.

He told journalists, that millions are out on the streets protesting the coup attempt. He added that Turkey’s cabinet is functioning in Ankara.

The uprising according to Tayyip Erdogan was carried out by minority within the military that could not stomach the unity of the country.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan denounced early Saturday, July 16 ” a betrayal ” led for several hours by coup soldiers , whom he accused of being linked to his nemesis Fethullah Gülen , an imam exiled for years in the United States.

Speaking to the press at the Istanbul Ataturk airport, where he was greeted by a large crowd , the strong man of Turkey congratulated his supporters to be descended ” millions ” in the streets to defend his country .

“There is a government in Turkey and a president elected by the people in power and God willing we will overcome this ordeal. Those who go down with tanks will be captured because the tanks are not theirs . “

” I do not know yet the fate of the Chief of Staff ,” also said Erdogan . Tayyip Erdogan said that the hotel where he was on holiday in Marmaris resort in southwestern Turkey, was bombed after his departure.

Binali Yildirim, prime minister has reported 120 arrests while explosions and blow sporadic fire were still heard in the early morning in the city center of Ankara where parliament was bombed , as well as Istanbul . The head of government ordered the army loyal to shoot down planes and helicopters located the hands of the military coup.
